Its name is from the contraction of the two main ingredients, banana and apple, of its two early hits - banoffee pie and apple caramel crumble pie. The idea was to craft a website that reflected each store's friendly ambiance, as well as to extend the company's mission of providing fresh, home-baked goods to online consumers.
